A.B.R.E.A.S.T. center for breastfeeding:
The Associates for Breastfeeding Research, Education, Advocacy, Support and Treatment was born 30 years ago when Dr. Hazelbaker first hung out her lactation consulting shingle. The center has supported thousands of women to achieve their breastfeeding goals since its inception, performed lactation research, provided education on lactation topics to both parents and professionals, advocated for changes in breastfeeding policies and provided lactation therapy for the treatment of infant sucking problems and maternal breast and nipple problems with an over 95% success rate.
Dr. Hazelbaker has renewed her IBCLC certification five times, trains people to become successful lactation therapists, and is respected throughout the world for her expertise in lactation therapy. She is considered an advanced practice lactation consultant, is a Fellow of the International Lactation Consultant Association and is the most educated and experienced IBCLC in the Columbus, Ohio community. She often sees those clients that other lactation consultants from throughout Ohio have referred when they are unable to resolve the problem.
All of Dr. Hazelbaker’s interns who see clients at the clinic are either directly supervised by her during consultations or have sufficiently mastered enough lactation therapy skills to be indirectly supervised by her.
