Level 1 - Craniosacral Therapy for Lactation Consultants: The Basics - Columbus, OH - September 21 - September 25, 2022


This 5-day course covers foundational skills for Craniosacral practice as it pertains to Lactation and Breastfeeding. Dr. Hazelbaker covers essential concepts and clinical skills necessary for effective Craniosacral practice. Participation in this course will allow the student to take our Advanced Foundation courses and then our CST for Infant Breastfeeding courses, which are considered Level 5 and Level 6. This class counts toward the Certified Independent Lactation Therapist (CILT) credential.

Topics covered:

  • The history of Craniosacral Therapy.

  • The Breath of Life.

  • The primary respiratory mechanism and its expression of the Breath of Life.

  • Palpation literacy.

  • Palpation skills.

  • Fascial lines.

  • Tensegrity.

  • Observing and feeling Release phenomena.

  • Basic assessment skills.

  • Basic treatment protocol.

  • Hands-on practice treatments.

  • Craniosacral concepts:

    • Weight of the hand.

    • Third field of interaction.

    • How not to take on a client’s “stuff”.

    • Being grounded during sessions.

    • How to trust what you feel - “knowing”.

    • The different ways you might “feel” or “know”.

    • Felt sense.

    • Interoception - what is yours, what is theirs.

    • Anatomy and physiology of the Craniosacral Therapy system and specific to CST practice, including planes, midlines, polarity, etc.

Please come prepared to work on one another. As is true with all Craniosacral therapy trainings, because you will be receiving the work, please be sure to make space for your own personal processing in the evenings after class.

Class fee is $899.00 USD.

Prerequisites: All class participants must be certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant or a CLC, CLE, or some other credentialed lactation professional. However, if you are not an IBCLC, you must have another license that allows you to work hands-on with clients, such as DO, MD, PT, OT, LMT, RN, etc. If you have questions about whether you meet the prerequisites, please give us a call or send us an email before registering, as tuition is non-refundable.

COVID Policy: Proof of vaccination is not required. Mask-wearing is not required, however, you are welcome to wear a mask if you choose. We have taken enhanced health and safety measures to protect you; however, an inherent risk of exposure to communicable diseases such as COVID-19 exists in any place where people gather. Protocols will evolve according to changing standards and health recommendations.  By participating in an event with Spirit of Healing, LLC, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and/or any other virus. We will not be held liable for any person contracting COVID or any other virus while participating in our courses. We reserve the sole right to modify guidelines and to deny admission or remove anyone whose conduct puts any person or property at risk. As with any illness, if you do not feel well at the time of the course, please stay home. However, refunds will not be given for positive COVID tests and/or illness. Instead, you will be offered a spot in a future course.

Cancellation Policy: All class tuition fees are due in full at the time of registration. Tuition is NON-REFUNDABLE, but should you need to cancel your attendance in a class for ANY reason, your tuition will be applied to a future class.
