Dr. Hazelbaker specializes in cross-disciplinary treatment and to that end has taken training in several modalities to best assist her clients. She is a certified Craniosacral Therapist, a Lymph Drainage Therapy practitioner, and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

Spirit of Healing, LLC (SOH) came into being when Lisa Gillispie, BSW, LMT, CST, RES-CPT, and Alison K. Hazelbaker, PhD, IBCLC, FILCA, CST, RCST, decided to create a private practice partnership that addressed the physical, mental and spiritual challenges faced by people wanting a complete healing. At the heart of the practice philosophy resides powerful principles:

Health lies within us all waiting to be mobilized. The role of the therapist is to support and nurture the body’s inherent health utilizing the skills he or she has learned in his or her training. The skills include those that release soft tissue restrictions, optimize flow of body fluids especially cerebrospinal fluid, blood and lymph, optimize central nervous system function, increase body awareness, mobilize trapped emotions, increase relaxation and decrease symptoms of stress while engaging the social nervous system in a constructive, loving and respectful manner.

Healing is available to all who seek it and comes in many forms and via many modalities. In some sense, everything can be medicine. At Spirit of Healing, the therapists endeavor to provide healing support through multiple modalities while also respecting the client’s right to choose allopathic approaches, without losing sight of the notion that allopathy is but one of many legitimate and powerful approaches for garnering and maintaining health.

Although Ms. Gillispie moved onto other pursuits, Spirit of Healing of today maintains the original philosophy of holistic healing envisioned by its original owners and has added new modalities to its list of services, including the results-oriented form of process work originated by Dr. Hazelbaker called the Sōmenos™ Process.

Spirit of Healing has grown over the years to include more practitioners and more services. Jessica Hazelbaker-Buell, MA, LMT, has worked for Spirit of Healing for 20 years as front office staff and bookkeeper. She now offers Craniosacral therapy, Intuitive Healing sessions, Prenatal care, education, and support, and Massage therapy. Alyssa Ryan Calm, LMT, CLT, joined us in 2015 as a lactation intern, but has grown her practice to include Lactation therapy, Craniosacral therapy, and Massage therapy.
